Christopher Jenig internship

Christopher has been interning as a clerk for the Cook County Public Defender's Office, Division 4 in Maywood, Illinois. The Public Defender’s Office represents indigent clients ranging from felonies to misdemeanors. His duties include legal research, discovery, writing motions for court, case investigation, interviewing and visiting clients in the Cook County Department of Corrections, court observation, networking with a range of judges, attorneys, and law enforcement, and most generally, keeping people out of jail.

In Christopher's own words: "The Public Defender is presented with the challenge of representing disadvantaged clients and gave me the opportunity to advocate on the behalf of the underdog. It was a perfect introduction to the legal world before my commencement of law school in Fall 2020."
